Charmy's Parents

Charmy was working on the X-jet in the garage at the Chaotix. He was screwing in a loose bolt in the wing area with his wrench.
Shadow had walked in the room admiring of what he was doing. “Hey Charms, you’re doing a nice job with the X-jet.”
“Thanks, Captain Shadow.”
Shadow liked it when Charmy called him that. It made him feel important. “Although, I can’t stop thinking that you’re obsessed with anime robots.”
“Why do you think that?”
“Gee Charms I don’t know maybe it’s because you turned the plane into a robot.” He remembered that when Rouge first decided to join the Chaotix team and Charmy had added the robot feature in the plane.
“I got that idea from an anime called Mobile Suit Gundam.”
“...Figures...”
“Charmy, come here. I need to talk to you.” Vector had called from his office door.
“Coming!” Charmy had said back.
“Don’t worry, I’ll finish repairing the wing for you.” Shadow took the wrench from Charmy’s hand.
“Thanks Captain, you’re the best.”
Charmy flew into Vector’s office waiting for Vector’s reason for bringing him in his office.
Vector put away some papers and set them in his desk drawer. He then faced Charmy. “Sit.”
Charmy noticed the chair next to him, he sat in it. “Boss, did I do something wrong?”
Vector shook his head, “No, not at all.”
“Then what for?”
“I was going to wait until you had gotten older, but I think now is the time to tell you.”
“About what?”
“Your parents.”
Charmy’s eyes widened while he gasped, “...My parents...you’ve said nothing about my real parents before.” Charmy never really known his parents. The family that took him in when he was a baby was Vector and his wife.
“I’ve decided now was a good time to tell you. If you want to hear it.”
“Of course I want to know. Tell me.”
Vector sighed, “All right, It all began on the day of your birth. It was night and I had came over to take a look at you. You see me and your parents were good friends. They said if anything bad happened to them, I could take care of you. The same night when I left a Street Punk attacked their house and stole valuables. While he was at it, he decided to have a little fun. Killing fun that is. He ran after your parents and tried to kill them. By the time I got there they were already dead. I looked for you, when I found you I saw you in the hands of the Street Punk. I don’t know why, but the Street Punk was hesitating to kill you. Anyway I wasn’t waiting to find out. He then spotted me and threw you at me, fortunately I caught you. The bad news was he got away. Probably today the same Street Punk is still lurking around the city.”
Charmy was stunned and sad to hear that brutal story.
“Charmy?” Vector knew he’d be kinda shook up.
“What did he look like?”
“As good as I could see in the dark house he had black fur.”
“Oh...”
“I’m sorry Charmy, I shouldn’t have told you that.”
“No, I’m glad you did. Thanks, Vector. I’m gonna go finish up on the X-jet.”
“Okay, take it easy on yourself.” Vector hoped he’d be all right after what he just heard.
Back in the garage Shadow was cleaning the X-jet. He noticed Charmy coming back. “Hey Charmy, what did Vector want?”
“Huh? Oh nothing special.”
Shadow continued cleaning the plane.
“Hey Captain?”
“Yeah?”
“When you were a Street Punk, did you have a problem killing kids?”
“Well...not kids but babies.”
Charmy gasped.
Shadow heard Charmy gasp and thought something was wrong, “What is it?”
Charmy shook his head, “Nothing.”
Shadow shrugged and continued cleaning the plane.
Charmy picked up the wrench from the floor and held it up in the air aiming at Shadow’s head. With force he hit the wrench at his head.
Shadow fell to the floor bleeding from his head out cold.
Charmy dropped the wrench on the floor. His heart was beating fast as he was panting, “No one kills Charmy’s parents. Not even you, Shadow the Hedgehog.”
